A Quickie

I have so many things to blog about (including Miya’s 2ndbirthday). I just don’t have enough time in my hands to complete them so I haven’t been updating my blog as often as I should. So I thought I should make a quick update here.

Last weekend was quite full for us. On Saturday, wehad Miya’s Gymboree class in the morning. Then we headed off to my office forher and Daddy’s dental visit. I also took this chance to get her ID picturetaken. I’m amazed at how long she can go now without her morning and afternoonnaps. But she still needed them, when we arrived home around 3pm, she was knocked out for her nap until 6pm. Here are some photos:

Hurrah! The "My Dentist" book and training at home worked! She fully cooperated for her dental check-up.

The next day, Lolo Arthur treated us for a post-Valentinedate. We went to Ayala Triangle hoping to eat at Amici, only to find out theydon’t open until 12 noon – we were there before 11am. So we picked Poco Deli toeat in and we were happy we chose this restaurant. Their food is delicious – weordered their Bacon Slab, Truffle Oil Pasta, Sausage Platter and Citrus Delightfor drinks. We also bought cake from Banapple for dessert but we brought thathome to eat. And before we left the park, we bumped into Mands and his family.

Weekend: Downs and Ups

After blogging about my sick daughter last Friday, it turned worse. Around 4pm, our yaya texted me that Miya's temp was at 38.6 so she gave her Calpol. After a few minutes, Miya was vomitting. I immediately went home. I arrived past 5pm and she was still weak from all the vomitting. I carried her and asked, "What's owie?" She pointed to her head and her mouth. She was still feverish then because she threw up the meds she took earlier. For about an hour, she would throw up once in a while sometimes just saliva and nothing else. She was so kawawa. I was broken hearted. I smelled like vomit but I didn't care. I took care of her. I gave her a sponge bath and then after an hour we gave her meds again. She was feeling a bit better afterwards. She asked if we can go upstairs na, so we went even if it's not yet sleeping time. I thank God, she was better almost immediately after. When Joema got home, she's almost her usual self. After a few more hours, she was okay already. I also called her pedia just to make sure. He told us to give her round-the-clock meds and bring her the next day for check-up. Since Joema was in a hurry to go home, he wasn't able to passby the pedia's clinic to list Miya down for the next day's check-up. On Saturday, we had to wait for almost two hours before she was checked by the pedia. Thank God, she was not ill anymore. There was a toddler in the clinic who was sick, she was so matamlay, I feel for her.

That Friday night, we had to forego a dinner with some friends because Miya was sick. We had to cancel our plans for the weekend because we weren't sure if she'll be okay during the entire weekend. Good thing, the doctor said it was viral respiratory tract infection and she wouldn't be sick any more. True enough, she was well enough after (well, even before the check-up).

So for dinner on Saturday, we asked our friends if they could dropby our condo to have dinner with us. One of Miya's ninongs is home from Singapore during the weekend. He hasn't seen Miya since she was born. At first, Miya didn't want to come near him. But later on with some bribery, she softened up to him hehe. You know what he used to briber her? Pizza! The moment she saw the pizza delivered to our unit, she was calling out to him "Ninong! Ninong! Kiss!" even volunteering to kiss him hahaha!

Sunday was my mom's birthday. We ordered from Amber's (their crispy pata is the best) and bought cake for her. Miya, of couse, sang "Happy Birthday" to her Yaya - that's how she says Lola or sometimes it's Yoya. My mother was more than happy.

Happy birthday, Lola!

All in all, the good trumped the bad. Even Vettel had a good weekend (he finally won another race this season and in Singapore no less!). How was your weekend?

Relaxing Weekend

We went to Pansol over the weekend for a much needed break - just pure relaxation. At first we begged off since I wanted to rest (was sick the start of the week), but our friends egged us to come since the objective is really to relax over the weekend. And relaxed we did. We just chatted the night away, while some of us swam. I didn't bring a swimsuit because I might get cough and colds again. But thankfully, the air wasn't that chilly (like the previous time we went there) so we were able to stay outside in the cabana. The next day almost all of them swam except for me and Heyl. We talked about grown up things haha!
Here are some photos.

6 Kids and a Puppy

The past weekend was spent with our families. Friday night we went to Bocaue and spent the rest of Saturday there. My husband's nephews and nieces were aplenty haha! There were kids everywhere.

Here's my soon-to-be goddaughter, Sam. She loves eating. Her "figure" doesn't show it but her past time is eating hahaha. Doesn't she look like a real princess?

And she also loves taking a bath.

And then there are brothers…this is Gab...

and his brothers, Renz and Ely.

Here are the brothers with Kyla, the elder sister of my Sam.

Here's David who is actually Joema's grandson already, he's only a few months old.

By Saturday night we went home to my parent's house and spent the entire Sunday there. They didn't have babies/kids there but they have their own baby – Queenie. Queenie's been at my parent's house since January of this year. Unlike Sam, she doesn't really like taking a bath hehe.

Here she is after being blow dried.

Well, hello there..show us your cute face!

The heat's been insane but with these cuties around, it was bearable.

This coming weekend we'll probably stay at home to watch the Istanbul GP. Time to see those F1 cars again. Here's a trivia: ever wonder why F1 cars don't have projector headlights? Well, F1 cars don't have headlights, even when they do the Singapore night race, simply because the headlights will add weight to the car; thus, it's not an option due to the aerodynamic design of the car.

Summer Weekend at Sofitel

We were in Sofitel over the weekend for our deparment outing so I invited our friends over. Joy and Mek came early with the kids. They weren't in a hurry to go swimming so we just hang out at first. My godson, Miguel, was in his zone that weekend, he dances on cue when his mom plays the music. When he saw his sister wearing her swimsuit he said, "Swimming! Swimming!" So they changed his clothes and here he is ready to swim in his rashguard.

While the kids were swimming, we were waiting for the sunset. I've been to this hotel a number of times but this was the first time I was able to see the sunset from this place.

Miguel was cold after his short swim.

After Miguel, Kyla and Joy had their swim and after washing up, we met up with the other guys for dinner. Our treat in celebration of Joema's birthday. We ate at Super Bowl in Mall of Asia. We were happy with how fast their service was and the food is great.

We then headed back to our hotel room for a game of poker.

The guys left around 2am. We would have watched the replay of the qualifying round of the Monaco leg but I was too sleepy. And even if we slept late, we had to wake up early because we couldn't pass up eating buffet breakfast at Spiral. Our stay wouldn't be complete without this hehe.

Full-Packed Friday

It was holiday for us last Friday because of Labor Day (Yes, we're unlike the rest of the labor force in the Philippines who had their holiday the Monday after May 1). But I didn't spend it at home doing nothing. I moved my butt before lunch time to meet up with Joy (thankfully she was on leave) at Greenbelt and then we went to her cousin-in-laws clinic Derm and Beyond. See I've been going back and forth to two different dermatologists the past couple of months because of a white spot around my chin area. I'm sure you've noticed it in a few of my photos posted here in my blog. And the two dermatologists just gave me anti-fungal creams and have been asking me to come back to check it again. Well, it came to a point that the white spot is annoyingly disturbing and a lot of people have been asking me about it. I had an inkling that it might be vitiligo (yes, Michael Jackson's skin disorder) so I did a little research online. And it was mentioned in one of the sites that most people with vitiligo experience depression. So after reading that I wanted to go to a derma who I can ask comfortably about what vitiligo really is. Fortunately, Kuya Ogie, Joy's cousin-in-law was very easy to talk to. He instantly told me that it is vitiligo and then he told me what treatment can be done and then he asked all my other questions about it. Now, I can stop worrying and just do what Kuya Ogie told me to do. Believe me, I was so depressed last Thursday night that I told my husband we should relocate to the province in case the white spots begin to spread all over my face. Hopefully, the treatment will take effect in a couple of months. I'm praying it will!

It wasn't just me who had an appointment with Kuya Ogie, Joy had her warts removed and then her mom had diamond peeling. After the visit to the derma, we were all feeling beautiful again. Joy had to bring her mom home first because we were going to watch Iron Man 2 that night. Well actually we just brought her mom to the shuttle service that will bring her home. And then we picked up Mek in Magallanes. By the time we were at Glorietta, Kyla was already starving and Joy had to have her coffee so we had a light snack at Starbucks. We were actually in Greenbelt around 5pm to buy the tickets but the only available screening that night was 12:30am. Good thing the 9:30pm screening at G4 was still available. After our snacks, we went to Teenzone because Joy wanted to buy something for Miguel. While going around, we found these cute tees. And Joy and I each got one Little Miss Fighting Maroon.

Kyla asked one for her too so Joy got one for her school as well. Mek got inggit so he got himself a shirt too with this print.

Unfortunately the only other shirt that's left is the one on display. I didn't want to get that for Joema because I thought the print looked a little faded already. Although Joy told me to buy it anyway because Joema will surely be envious. True enough when we showed him our shirts he was asking if I bought him one. So sorry, maybe next time.

We had dinner after our little shopping spree. Joema arrived just in time for dinner at -- wait for it -- T.G.I. Friday's haha! And then it was time for Iron Man 2. The cinema was jampacked! We were seated at rows 3 and four at the left most corner of the cinema. We were straining our neck to get a good look. Fortunately, the movie was so good our location inside the moviehouse didn't really bother us. Maybe, we should just watch it again.

Pansol Weekend Getaway

The husband and I had a wonderful time over the weekend. We spent it in Pansol with our friends. Our friend was so generous to invite us to their resthouse.

We just chilled and relaxed. While the young ones were all excited to take a dip in the pool.

We played dodgeball too. Although I suck at dodgeball! Boo!

But of course we couldn't resist to swim in that wonderful pool.

We had a hearty merienda and dinner.

And then it was booze and videoke time!

We made it like American Idol where we had a theme for every round. The first round was M.O.M. which stands for MakeOut Music, and then the next round were OPM's in which my husband sang Ted Ito's local versin of Saigono Iwaki (remember that song?). So we were stuck in that genre. Another friend was looking for Sasasadami of Lady D (?) ahahahaha! For our final rounds, we had Eraserheads and then Apo Hiking Society Songs. For the finale, these three sang "All for Love" and because all them had enough drinks, they really felt like Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting.

Told you the husband had too much alcohol, he can't stop dancing haha!

We were all hung over the next day. That's us after barely five hours of sleep. And I look the most hungover person wtf!

After breakfast, we played RockBand. We never get tired of RockBand.

And then we're back in the pool.

And then all of a sudden, it was time to go back home.

Perfect relaxing weekend! Who needs air filter, when you have all that fresh air?

Vodka + RockBand = FUN

I had so much fun last weekend. We went on an impromptu drinking session with some friends. And to think the husband initially didn't want to go to because he just wanted to stay in and relax the entire night. I met up with him after his work and we went grocery shopping. Our original plan was to meet up and then watch Alice in Wonderland and then do some grocery shopping. So I did meet up with him after his work and then we watched Alice in Wonderland. I was almost panicking because we agreed on the 4:10pm screening but he wasn't out of the office yet by 3:45pm. But as luck would have it, we were in the theater just in the nick of time. Just before the movie ended, our friend J called up my husband which I thought was because she wanted to ask if we were going to our friend T's place. Anyways, after the movie we proceeded to shop for groceries and then our friend T texted that he's just by himself in their house and that we can come by any time we want. We thought the text message was so desperate (hehe sorry T!) that my husband decided we should go there after doing the groceries. He called up our friend J (turned out she was asking something about downloading iTunes on her iPhone) and confirmed with them that we were going to T's place after doing the groceries. By 8pm, we were done with groceries, got home, rested for a while and where out of the house again to go to our friend's house.

It was only the five of us that night (too bad we didn't do this when we were complete) but we had so much fun, especially us two girls, drinking and playing Rock Band (no serious talk about work or finances like advantages and disadvantages of credit cards). As my friend said, it's fun to let loose once in a while.

We rock!!!

No, they're not drunk...

...we were hehehe
