When I'm at work, I rarely go out of the building for lunch because I try to limit my walking within the building. I get tired easily nowadays and I don't really want to endanger myself and the baby by walking around a lot (I've been on bedrest too many times I think). So this rare Friday I was able to go out for lunch with friends and then in the evening went on KTV night with another group of friends. Yes, it's that rare that it's a bloggable moment!

Tali Beach

Our good friend E was in town for a visit last May. We went to Tali Beach with him. It was actually all planned very near the date we met because we initially planned to meet with all the Migs at our favorite place. Unfortunately, our friends H and P were not available on those dates so we had to find an alternative. Since I only had a week to look for an alternative, all the resorts that I liked were fully booked already. Good thing, I saw an advertisement at our office for this house for rent in Tali Beach.

On that Saturday, we picked up E and his niece and nephews at his condo. Then off we all trooped to Batangas. I think it was already past 6pm when we arrived at the house so we didn’t have time to go to the beach anymore. Fortunately, we were able to catch the sunset. This viewing deck was very near the house we rented, we walked going here.

After that we went back to the house and just hang out. I really love trips like this, nothing to do but hang out hehe. I can't do a full "where to stay" post on the house we rented because it's a private house. But I'm posting some photos of the house.

Next day was beach day! Tali beach is not as nice as Boracay’s. And the beach that we went to was small and got pretty crowded. But it will do for a nearby beach (near Manila). Tali is part of Batangas and most people who are able to go there have a house there or was able to rent a house (like us). It’s an exclusive residential village with different beaches. I think we went to the main beach.  Although the beach was near the house, we opted to drive going there because we brought merienda for the kids and we didn't want to carry them going there. I noticed a signboard at the beach, though, that bringing in food and barbecuing is prohibited. Maybe they meant lunch because no one told us off when the kids started eating the sandwiches we brought.

Babies and Christmas

We’ve been to several Christmas parties last December (and I’m pretty sure you have been too). And one of them was a party with some of friends at work. I’ve only known these girls for less than five years (some of them even for less than a year) but I’m grateful I have them in my life. Truly! I guess when you grow older, you treasure these kinds of relationship. I’m not an entirely friendly person actually haha, I’m no Ms Congeniality. If you ask some of them, you’ll know. I only keep a handful of friends and those different groups are tight-knit. Hehe sorry for the emo intro, it must be because I’m going to be another year older in a few weeks time.

Anyhoo, this party was a lot more funner because we were able to bring the kids. And what’s a more beautiful way to welcome another kiddo in the group by throwing the mommy a baby shower. So technically this is a baby shower and Christmas party in one hehe.

Let's attack the food!

I was in charge of the games. Our games is baby shower themed instead of Christmas. One of the games is  called Back and Forth Birth Story. We formed a circle and  passed our gift to our left or right depending on the story (as I'm reading it). The story is about Mr. and Mrs. Wright who is about to give birth. We also did this in our Christmas merienda (although different story). 

The next game is called Delectable Diaper. The teams had to correctly identify the chocolates in the diaper. But we microwaved the chocolate bars and it looked like poo.

Next up is Diaper Designer. The teams used tissue papers to create diapers for their babies.

Bottle Chugging is next. Used old bottles (but unused) that I have in stock and put orange juice in them.

Next is "Spit the Binky" game. But since pacifiers are more expensive that teats, I bought teats that are packed in 4s instead. we had very limited budget for the games hahaha. My instructions to them were "Chupchupin ang chupon at ibuga" hahaha!

While the adults were playing, my little girl had some fun with the extra large teddy bear.

Since this was also a Christmas Party, we had our exchange gift.

We also gave a gift to the Mommy-to-be Tin (she has already given birth as of press time).

Annual Migs Christmas Party

We were almost complete for this Christmas party. Michelle attended with her family (finally!) and David and his family also came home from Singapore. We missed Epoy, though, who didn't come home for the holidays.

Of Mickeys and Friends

Before heading to Quezon City for another Christmas party, this time with my college barkada, we went to Megamall to see their Christmas decorations. They have their Hong Kong Disneyland photo-op station at the basement near Toy Kingdom.

After the photo-ops, we headed on to QC for the party.

After eating, we spent the night watching the Azkals game against Singapore and these two. It's so hard to take a decent photo of these two. Parehong makulit at malikot.

Next year, another kid will be added to our brood. Hopefully, another hubby for my single ladies :)

Girls Night Out

We had our “unusual” girls nightout last Friday. I say unusual because we don’t really go out, just us girls. We usually meet up together with our husbands and kids, aside from Ja who’s still single.

We should actually do this more often. Ever since I gave birth, I haven’t really had a “me” time. I’m usually attached to my baby as she is still breastfeeding. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy breastfeeding her. But to keep me sane, I also need those times that I have to be away from her. These night outs are the best for that. As they say, happy mommy, happy baby and happy wife, happy life.

I miss these times that I get to go out and just have dinner with friends. Although this time around, I keep on looking at my watch and thinking if my baby has fallen asleep already haha. Mother’s instinct kicks in every once in a while. And I think, old age kicks in too. We were all a bit sleep by the time we went our separate ways and this was only past 11pm hahaha. Mommy mode ON.

Heili's Birthday

After Gymboree, we went to Makati for Heili’s birthday celebration. I can’t say it enough but I love spending weekends with these guys. Spending weekends with them is a guaranteed chillax, laid-back get-together, just hanging out, sharing stories and banters, eating and stuffing ourselves.

Miya went around the house as if she was the owner. Oh how I wish we have a bigger space she can run around in. I know it’ll be more exhausting taking care of her but atleast she’ll have enough space to roam.

Miya's First Birthday - Manila Style

The weekend after our trip to HK, we arranged a get-together with our close friends to celebrate Miya's birthday. We actually scheduled a small party for her in Bocaue but that weekend coincided with the barrio fiesta so we postponed it for the next week (different post on that). For lunch, my college barkada went to our condo to celebrate with us. It was a triple celebration for me, Miya and Reyna.

I'm so proud of Miya because she knew how to blow the candles without us teaching her. I knew of this "skill" of her only after I saw the photos. We never taught her how to blow the candles. *beams*

For dinner, we met up with Migs to celebrate as well. We're a bigger group so we can't fit into our condo. Thankfully, Miya's Ninang Heyl was more than willing to have us over to celebrate in their home.
