DIY Baby Shower Gift and Decor

Remember this list of tips for new mommies? I collected those from my mommy friends and we then gave them as a gift to first-time mom, Mommy C. Here she is reading one of the tips during the baby shower.

Well, first I searched for free printable templates for baby showers and stumbled upon this wonderful blog: Hostess with the Mostess. It's a wonderful blog with all the sources you need when you're DIY-ing a birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, etc. I searched the site for an appropriate theme and settled for their Festival du Bebe theme since we have two mommies who don't know the gender of their baby yet at the time of the shower. I downloaded the drink label signs which is perfect for what I wanted to do. I wanted  to print out the tips in a calling card form - one tip, one card. It came out this way.

The final product -  I didn't have enough materials to wrap it so I just ended up tying a ribbon around the cards. I should have bought one of those calling card holders in National Bookstore.

For the other decors, Mommy P was designated to do it. She downloaded some of the printables from the same website and edited the template to show each of the mommies' names.

That's it! A simple DIY can make even the simplest occasion feel extra special.

How cute Cris! This is such a nice idea for soon to be new moms! Wish I had those cards before I had A --- I was clueless as to what to do with her in spite of all the research I did before I gave birth!

Great post! I wish I did the same thing before my daughter was born. I could've made a basket or some sort for baby gifts.
