Just Another Blog

I haven't been blogging for a while. Well, I actually am but on a different blog hehe. I've started a blog to document my daughter's milestones. As much as I want to do it here, for security reasons, I don't think I can. Sure, I may only have a few readers but I just don't want my daughter's face plastered all over here, which is the case now. Plus, that other blog is so much more private and personal. One day I hope to have all my posts in that blog published in a book. I remember reading an online site which can convert your blogposts into a book so I want one like that for my daughter. So there, I will still blog about her here but maybe not as often.

New

I want to make a new post here in my blog. But please beware that this might end with nothing really important to say to you. Every time I log in I keep seeing the last post's date and keep counting on how many days have passed. But every day of the work week, I have no interesting thing to talk about. Although, something has happened during the weekend I can't still blog about it because I don't have the photos to go along with the post hehehe. It was nice just to spend some time with my husband and some friends over the weekend. How I wish every weekend will be like that, just enough time to spend with other people and then some more time to spend with my husband. Tomorrow will be another day to spend at work...hay. And then I'm turning 30 in a few days. I don't really know if I want to celebrate it or just let is pass like an ordinary day. What did you do when you turned 30 or what do you want to do when you turn 30?

2010 Planner

I don't really buy planners. I'm happy with the annual planner the bank provides for all the staff. I use it for work and also for some personal stuff. What I keep in my bag is the smaller diary that they give. They give us 4 calendars each year - a planner refill, which is as big as a notebook but thicker, which we use with the hard cover with our names on it (yes, personalized), a smaller planner which can fit into our bags, a desk calendar and then another calendar (hehe I don't really know if I was able to explain that clearly). Anyway, so that's why I don't really spend on planners. But last Christmas a friend gifted me with the cutest planner. It was a set actually - Lucky Purse Diary - it says on the box.

When you open it, there are pages like these before the monthly and weekly planners. Sort of like ushering you to the next month. :)

I know the pages are just so cute to write on but I am writing on every page of the planner (well, the little scribbles I have there are only until today hehe) and I plan on doing it until the end of the year. I figured, an awesome planner = an awesome year hehe! If this comes true, then I might have to buy really great planners every year from then on. :)

By the way, the set also comes with a photo album (the green one), stickers with the months written on it and a box of blank stickers.

Coming Up for Air

Sorry I haven't been updating this blog. But I'll eventually catch up. I hope to blog about these things:

1. Italian and SG grand prix
2. Metro Bar with Mek and Joy (was able to watch Kamikaze and Parokya in one night)
3. Our recent trip (can you venture a guess where we went?)

So yep those are the major things I have to blog about. Don't wanna bore you with posts about work although that's what's been keeping me busy busy busy.

Just A Thought

During these times of recession and financial crisis, it got me thinking on how we could earn extra money. If I had money, I would probably invest in real property. Especially now that a lot condominiums are sprouting all over the metro. I would buy several units and have them rented out. My main market would be the yuppies especially in Makati and Ortigas areas or even newly wedded couples like ourselves. I wonder if I have to undergo some classes or seminars on Real Property Management or just hire someone who is in the know to manage our properties. Wow that sounds so good...OUR PROPERTIES! Universe, give it to momma!

Credit Card Thief

I'm posting the video of the woman who has stolen Frances' wallet last year, just before Christmas. I hope this woman gets caught soon. Apparently, this is a modus operandi. She gets inside offices and then steals the wallets of the employees just when no one is around.

Earth Hour Executive Director, Andy Ridley, is encouraging people to participate in whatever way they choose and to think beyond the hour. “There are no hard and fast rules surrounding participation in Earth Hour. We only ask that you flick that switch and have fun doing whatever you choose to do during that time. Make Earth Hour work for you. Families with young children should feel free to turn their lights off earlier than 8:30pm and for those having too much fun in the dark during the hour, don’t feel you have to limit yourself to one hour and switch back on at 9:30pm.”

Chopsuey

I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days. Had a fever and wasn't able to go to work this week. Been back for not even a week and I've been on leave again. Haaay... I just realized for three consecutive weeks, I haven't been going to the office 5 times a week. Last week, I went back starting Thursday, and then this week I was on sick leave Wednesday, and then next week Monday is a holiday. Hurrah!

Yesterday, I was going around the mall with a friend when I saw a Christmas countdown...28 days to go! Oh gosh! We haven't even started shopping for gifts yet. We haven't decorated at home. We have Christmas decors but haven't got the time to put them up. Maybe tomorrow, if I'm feeling better.

An officemate told me that I might be getting sick because I'm cleaning now, that is, I might be allergic to dust. Oh yes you read that right...I don't clean my room, our house..any thing when I was single. We have househelp to do that. But now I have to do it or else we'll be living like filthy pigs. Oooh I have plenty of "newlywed" stories to tell ya!

I'm waiting for the hubby to text me so I can go and meet him. We're buying some appliances tonight. We're buying them one by one.

Business Loans

While I’m already happy with my job and I know that I’ll probably stay here until my retirement (we have really good medical benefits and a pension plan), I’m still thinking of starting a small business. And since I don’t have the money to start one, I should probably avail of business loans. There are some organizations that will offer you a business loan without any collateral. You will get your startup money without any problems. My problem now is what business should I put up? People always say it should be of interest to you, which is quite logical. You have to learn different things before you set up your business, it might as well be something you are really passionate about. So that leads me to…what are my interests and will they make me profitable?

Travel

I love to travel. And the few times I’ve traveled, I’m so excited about planning the trip. I am usually the one preparing the flight details, the hotel arrangements, our itinerary for the trip. One friend told me I should do that as a business, put up a travel agency or just arrange itineraries for people going on a trip.

Wedding

Even before we started planning for our wedding, I’ve already researched on the different suppliers in the industry. I wanted to know how much budget we should have for our wedding, what is realistic and what is not. And I’ve helped my friends who are getting married by referring different suppliers to them. I’m their wanna-be coordinators haha! Penny suggested I should do it as a side-line.

These are just two of the industries that I think I have a chance of doing something. Well, these are what interests me as of the moment. So if I do put up a business, it might be something related to any of these two – even if it’s remotely related hehe.

Write...Right?

I have been writing much about our wedding preparations in this blog. Sorry to bore you with the itty-bitty details of our wedding. It's just that most of my time, aside from work, goes to preparing for the wedding. And I haven't really thought about any other things to write about. Even if I wanted to write about something else, I can't seem to start to write about it. Much like in school when I was required to write essays or book reviews. Did you know that now you can buy essays online and then submit the essay to your teacher? Some internet website specializes in providing writing services to students. Some may argue that you won't be able to learn, if someone does your homework for you but still...isnt' this neat? You pay people to do custom writing for you. It can be compared to paying for tutorial services I presume. No more worrying about failing to submit required essays from your different subjects in school, just let them know your specific requirements. For us Filipinos, this is actually not a new concept because there are shops in Recto, near the university belt, that sells thesis papers to students. Do you think this online custom writing is a lot different from the shops in Recto?

And then our friends, Jo and David, dropped by the office to give me this. It's not really for me but for Joema. We didn't get the chance to chat because they had some errands to do. They're going back to Singapore this afternoon.

Joema and I initially planned to go to Singapore this September to watch the F1 Grand Prix BUT because of the wedding we won't be able to go. We're hoping to see the F1 race track in Sepang, Malaysia instead when we go there for our honeymoon.

I See You

I think I’m due for an eye check-up. My vision with my current eyeglasses is not that clear anymore. People’s faces are starting to look blurry. I hate to go to the eye doctor again but I get irritated when I don’t see people’s faces when they are far from me or it takes me so long to recognize them when I’m walking towards them. If I could only afford to have LASIK surgery but for now I’m settling for new eyeglasses. I usually buy new ones in time for a change in the grade of my lenses. I found these incredible stylish new frames from Zenni. I’m thinking of getting a new plastic frame like this.

I know! WTF???!?!?!? right? I must have been confused with his question because I saw them coming from the direction of the women's bathroom. And for a while there I had to think where the men's room was located since I don't really go there. Duh?!?!? LOL! He must have thought "Stupid woman! Why would I ask for the women's washroom" AHAHAHAHA

At Sea

My cousin is a musician and he used to be a part of a band who entertains the guests of a cruise ship. Theirs isn’t one of those Christian Cruises but he got to travel to different parts of the world. He was able to go to North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He said most of the people onboard the cruise ship are old people mostly pensioners who are living leisurely. When I grow old, I want to be one of those people. I want to get onboard a cruise ship and travel. I might even consider going on a Christian Cruise. Most Christian Cruises would ply the Mediterranean and have ports of call in different cities in the three continents surrounding it – Europe, Asia and Africa. I would love to go on a week-long cruise or even longer. Of course that is a different matter when you work in a cruise ship like my cousin. He only gets to go home once a year. For ten months he will be at sea and the times they are on land are far in between. He really gets homesick. Once he knows the date he will be coming back to the Philippines, he starts counting down the days. I guess it’s never really as much fun when you’re there for work.

100 Naked Men

So apparently we missed the Oblation Run this year. Not that I’m watching it every year. No, scratch that – I used to watch it every year. I think in my four years in college I watched it 4 times haha! On my first year, my classmates and I cut class to be able to watch it. I remember it distinctly like it was yesterday. =P It was weird having to jostle with other people – students/media/old ladies – to get a view of their thingies. We were among the hundreds of people who waited in AS to see the runners. After the run, my friends and I were all silent, all thinking about what we’ve witnessed. Until somebody brave enough to start the conversation and we were all like “does it really look like that?” hahaha. I don’t remember much about the next years but I’m pretty sure I was there. Anyway, I said we missed it because my officemates and I are planning to go there this December to watch it. Maybe next year…

Unlimited Perversion

My mother gave me her other Sun cellular phone, the one with unlimited texts and calls if you text or call other Sun cellular lines. So anyway, since it’s unlimited, nauuso na naman ang mga nakikipag-phonepal (what do they call these nowadays?) Hay naku it all started last Friday, I had two missed calls from the same number. When I showed it to my brother he called the other line – which I think is stupid since it wasn’t registered in my phone. Although the only numbers registered in that phone is my mother’s and my brother’s numbers. So anyway, I told him to hang up since I don’t know who owns the other line. And then after that I got a text message “hi”. I didn’t reply of course even if it’s for free. And then he (yes, I know he’s a he) started calling again. I figured I will answer the call but I won’t speak para lang masayang yung minutes nya. At first he was saying “hello…hello…” And then ohmygosh! Pervert! He was moaning on the other end. I know nothing physical happened, I didn’t even see his face but I really felt violated and offended. Up until now I still get calls from him although I don’t answer anymore and reject his calls. If only the phone has a call barring feature. Super low-tech naman kasi so it doesn’t have that feature. So what will I do now? Today, he made 5 calls already, the first was 6:30 this morning! Argh! I hope he gets tired of calling. :(
