I'm alive, alert, AWAKE and not enthusiastic

I woke up at 730 this morning. Argh! I didn't want to wake up coz I slept at 3am plus I don't have anything to do - no work, lakad will be later this afternoon pa. Kaasar!

Yun lang hahaha. I know I won't be able to make a sensible post about the past few days because I'm not thinking clearly. Gusto ko pa matulog!!!

Understood? Nah!

Walang sense 'tong post na 'to. Wala lang talaga kong sense ngayon. Pagbigyan nyo na ko.

2006 Year-end Party

Last Friday was the year-end/Christmas party of our department. It was held at the Palawan ballroom of Edsa Shangri-La. The theme of the party was ballroom dancing. I thought I wouldn't enjoy the party because I'm not into ballroom dancing, or any dancing at all. But it was so much fun! Of course the night was started by a sumptuous feast. I was so delighted there was a bibingka and puto bumbong stand. Yummy! Paskong pasko talaga! There a lot of prizes that was raffled off. Of all those boxes, I only won gift cheques P400 from Delifrance and P200 from SM. I'm not complaining, but it would've been better if I won the overnight stay at Edsa Shang hihi

There were also games, well just two actually. In the first one, we only had to find a star under our seats. Can you see me looking for a star under my seat? I didn't find any!

I was a participant in the second game. There were two teams, each member holding a letter from the word Christmas.

We have to form words from the letters that were given to us. The host will give the definition and then we'll guess the word.

Like M-A-S-S

and C-H-A-R-M.

It was so funny because some of our teammates either don't know how to spell or keep on forgetting what letter they are holding hahaha. Muntik pa tuloy kaming matalo! Talagang career kami sa pagsagot!

The highlight of the party was the dance contest. Jopen was our representative for the night. Pambato namin sa dance contest at Star of the Night award. And she won the first place in the dance contest and was a runner up for Star of the Night!

We were so happy when they announced she was the winner in the dance contest!

But she should've been the winner for both. I don't want to post the pictures of the other contenders for Star of the Night. Let me just say that the winner wore a dress that's best worn as a bridesmaid or maid of honor in a wedding. Enough said!

Okay aside from the dance contest, another highlight for the night was...

me dancing the swing! OMG! And I didn't dance just once...

..but twice. See the first DI was wearing the pink shirt the next one wearing the black shirt. Sobrang obvious na photo-op pa 'tong last pic bwahahaha! I never imagined I would enjoy ballroom dancing. =P

Of course Christmas parties won't be complete without lots of group picture taking!

Merry Christmas everyone! 5 days to go!!!

**all pictures were taken by our official photographer, except for the last 6 pictures taken from my cam.

Baby One More Time

Went out last Friday even if I just came back from my sick leave here at work. Good thing my fever's gone but up until now I'm still coughing. It must be the weather. Anyways, I had Christmas dinner/birthday celebration of Mands and Janice with the rest of "gang". I suggested Nanbantei for dinner and they all loved the food. I love, love this resto and I love, love Japanese food even if I can't remember the names of the dishes. But I know the most common ones like tempura, sashimi, maki.

Jose treated us, well them, to dessert... Banana Peanut ice cream. I didn't eat because of my cough. During dinner, Janice gave us their wedding invitations. Sayang I didn't take a picture of it but it's so cute. It's sort of a post card where they have a collage of their pictures together. At the back where you're supposed to write a message is the wordings of their invite. Everything in the invite has a significance to the couple. Like the 25 centavo coin cutout that they have to seal the envelope. Janice told us that Al gave him one to serve as a good luck charm for her while taking exams. So sweet! And these couple has been to so many places already including Europe that's why their pictures(in the invite) are so nice to look at. Funny thing about these two is that the guy is the one who's more involved with the wedding. Janice is more excited planning for their honeymoon. I thought all brides are control freaks on their weddings hehe.

After dinner, we went to Red Box but since they will have available room at 12midnight we went out for coffee and dessert at Max Brenner. There we waited for Mands to arrive and of course we ordered desserts.

They were deliriously delicious haha.

I ate some too because as Penny puts 'worth it magkasakit ulit!'. :P When Mands finally arrived we started the gift giving. I gave the girls necklaces while the boys I gave them coin purses. Mands, Jose and Steve don't want to open their gifts. Nauto nila si Allan to open his that's how they knew it was a coin purse. The girls already knew theirs because I've put the necklaces in see-through gift bags. Me naman I got key holder from Mands who went to Hong Kong last week and flash drive from Charline (see my earrings).

It was already 12 by the time we finished at Max Brenner so we went straight to Red Box. I was only able to take a few pictures at Red Box because the battery of my digicam already gave up on me. My bad I didn't recharge it the night before.

Now this was my attempt to take a picture with me in it. That's my hair beside Penny.

Our final song for the night Britney Spears' Baby One More Time. Let's do this again folks..many more times.

Merry Christmas!

Sunday at Sunken

I've been sick again :( But before I had this nasty cough and colds again, I was able to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with Joema at UP. The day before that we were both craving for fishballs. I told him I will only eat fishballs at UP. I think the fishballs there are clean. Go figure! The next day when I woke up I had a text message from him telling me we could meet up and eat fishballs. His schedule for the next day is not until 5pm so we can spend the rest of the afternoon together. So I told him again I will only eat fishballs at UP. :) I met up with him at Gateway where we had lunch at Jumpo Japs. I've missed their kamameshi rice. After eating we went around the mall for a while. We were supposed to buy a dress for me for a wedding we'll be attending. But when I tried on the dress, it was too sexy for me. What a shame I don't have big boobs boohoo! Anyways, after going around for an hour we proceeded to UP. Kamalas-malas naman pagsakay namin ng Katips, it started to rain. I thought we will never realize our dream...of eating fishballs :P Good thing the rain stopped a few minutes after we arrived at SC. Diretso na kami sa tabi ng UP chapel to eat fishballs, squidballs and kwek-kwek. Happy na kami don. Sayang wala kaming nakitang nagtitinda ng lumpiang prito.

With our bellies full of street food, we went to Sunken to spend the rest of the afternoon watching Koreans watch soccer.

Well, he watched and I took pictures of us.

I took lots of pictures but he gamely posed.

Pasko Na! Pasko Na!

I attended my first Christmas party for the year last Thursday, 29 Nov. Christmas party here at the office. Konting salo-salo at exchange gift. I got what I wanted: Kami NAPO Muna CD! Thanks to my generous mommy, she gave me the one with the two CDs. So happy!

Our raffle prizes consisted of chips, chocolates and apples haha. No one wanted the apples.

I got Doritos! Mukha akong cartoons dito...

Joke lang yan I liked my prize. Pero pinagpalit ko pa rin sa chocolates :)

Have a blessed holiday season everyone!

A baby shower, a wedding and a birthday treat

Baby shower - Thursday

Our officemates threw a baby shower for Rhoda who is in her last few weeks of being pregnant. Her due date is on the second week of December. Being a 'King', our lunch was Tapa King, background music was from OST of Lion King and the give-aways are keychains with Lion King picture. The first-time mom is so excited for the baby that she bought 'our' gift for her during the Mega Sale last month -a Chicco stroller. Wala tuloy kaming pekchur na kasama ang gift namin for her hahaha. Since in our office almost all of them are married and have kids already, they had plenty of advices and stories of giving birth to Rhoda. You can actually tell the age difference because of their stories about giving birth. Yung iba wala pang epidural nung nanganak dati. Ganon ka-tanda yung iba kong officemates!

Wedding - Friday

The next day we went to Tita Julie's daughter, Johanna's wedding, at Santuario de San Antonio at Forbes. The wedding was at 7pm so most of us here at the office had to leave early to have their hair and make up done. :) Ako hindi na, basta after office hours nagpalit lang ako ng damit dito at ako na nag-make up sa sarili ko. Okay naman di ba?

After the wedding ceremony at the church, I went home na with one of my officemates. Since I was sick days earlier I don't want to gamble and sleep late at baka magkasakit ulit ako. Truth is, it was only that day that I felt really well. Though I still had cough, my colds are gone and I don't feel sick na talaga. Al fresco pa naman yung venue for the reception - the Coconut Palace. My officemates told me the Monday after that they went home around 1am already.

Epoy's birthday treat - Saturday

We were supposed to meet at SM Mall of Asia at 6pm for Epoy's dinner treat. But Epoy was late going to Tric's place and Ja was late to meet us at Gateway so we ended up eating at National Sports Grill at Greenbelt3 instead. After dinner we went to Joy and Mek's place to play poker. Nagpasundo na lang ako kay Jay sa SM Bicutan at around 12 midnight kasi hindi ako pwedeng ihatid ni Joema coz he has work at 3am. Joema was the big winner that night kaso when we got to SM past midnight, there was a police car beside our car (with Jay and Papa waiting for us to pick us up). Sobrang takot ako kasi I know papagalitan ako ng tatay ko dahil pinag-intay ko sila at nasita pa sila ng pulis. I only found out the next day na kinapkapan pa kapatid ko, who's on the driver seat, and pinabuksan pa yung glove compartment nung kotse. I think they were suspected of trafficking drugs. Anyway, that was the end of night for us already. Backtrack muna tayo sa simula.

As I said, Ja was supposed to meet us at Gateway. Well, actually she was supposed to meet me at the Santolan LRT station and we'll meet up with Joema at Cubao. Kaso she was late so I told her we'll meet her at Gateway na lang. Ayoko naman mag-intay sa LRT station noh. At Gateway, we bought our gift na for Epoy and waited at Odyssey. Joema bought some Discovery channel VCD and I ended up buying nothing. Ja was stuck in traffic at Libis so we proceeded in going to Makati. Hay ang gulo-gulo pa nila kausap kasi while on the way they called us to let us know na Glorietta na nga lang ang dinner instead na sa MOA. Then when we were at Glorietta already they called up to ask kung andon na kami (with the hint na gusto ulit nila magpalit ng venue). Imagine from Antipolo kami pa yung naunang dumating e lahat sila galing sa south. Sows! Anyway, the food was great. Yun na nga after dinner we proceeded to play poker na.

Joema tripled his bet! Winner talaga! We were supposed to go home na kasi after dinner dahil gusto pa nya matulog before going to work kaso napilit din. Enjoy din kahit puyat at napagalitan dahil it's been a while since we last saw the guys.

Divisoria - Sunday (pahabol)

Yes folks, I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. I only have to buy gifts for my family, Joema and a few of our inaanak. I'm done buying gifts for my young cousins, both sides of the family, a few friends and my officemates. Yey to me! Sayang lang inabot kami ng ulan dahil we were supposed to buy a Christmas tree and ornaments pa. :) So that was my weekend. How bout you what did you do?

And then I was sick

I had fever starting Saturday and I wasn't able to go to work yesterday. But before that I went shopping last Friday for that perfect black shoes. I needed to buy black shoes for a wedding I'm attending this Friday. I just hope I'm feeling way better for me to able to attend the wedding. I'm not part of the wedding party, just a guest of the mother of the bride haha! Fortunately, Landmark was on sale and Glorietta had its Midnight Madness. Met up with Grace at Landmark but wasn't able to buy there. I like four pairs of shoes from Landmark but I thought it was too expensive for a pair shoes I will only be wearing atleast twice a year. So off we went to Glorietta. After looking around for almost two hours, I finally bought the pair that I liked at Landmark. Good thing they have a boutique at Glorietta or I would have to persuade Grace to go back to Landmark to buy the first shoes I liked there. That was around 930pm already. We were supposed to watch Casino Royale but we were both too exhausted and hungry so we decided to just eat dinner and relax. Imagine going around the mall for two hours and I just bought only 1 pair of shoes. I had to muster self-restraint from buying anything else. My budget for the month doesn't allow me to buy anything for myself...just Christmas gifts for everyone else. Anyways, when we got to Heaven n Eggs and were seated on our table, I was distracted by the underwear of a certain lady patron there. Sorry no pictures to support my claim. I will have to post pictures tomorrow. I haven't uploaded the photos from my digicam yet. Maybe that's why I got scik..karma! Jeeesh!

Of Imax cinemas, Pool and Christmas lights

Finally, Joema and I were able to watch at the Imax cinema of SM Mall of Asia. We watched Open Season. I had a headache after the movie. But that may be because I was already nursing a headache even before we watched. Or maybe because I was wearing my eyeglasses so on top of that I had the 3D glasses on. Having two pairs of glasses on for almost two hours is not fun hahaha. Well, I guess it's okay. It was my first time to watch there. It was amazing watching the teaser for the Deep Sea. I'd love to go see an action movie there.

Joema while waiting at the lounge. This is the only picture I took at the cinema lobby because Joema said it's not cool to pose there haha! As if cool sya!

Blurry lang yung pic coz we used the night mode and ginalaw agad ni Joema yung kamay nya.

Congratulations to Ronnie Alcano for winning the 2006 World Pool Champion! Thank you for making us proud to be Filipinos (kahit na nakakahiya yung ibang maingay dun sa venue). Ipambili mo ng pustiso yung $100thou prize money =P My heart goes out to Ralf Souquet who can't control his tears while being interviewed by Anthony Suntay (at talagang sya ang may pekchur!). Well, good luck to you next time.

36 days before Christmas! Our Christmas lights are up...

It's not bongga as the house in that Max's commercial. Have you seen that? I can't find it at youtube. I wanted to post it here. Anyways, I really love that commercial. It's so cool!
