First Time Coin Bearer

The moment Reyna, my college friend and Javi's Ninang, posted on FB that she has a boyfriend, I immediately messaged her to have Javi as bearer on her wedding LOL! Kumbaga sa wedding, shotgun wedding! Nyahahaha! But really, I was super happy for her (and also I want Javi to be a bearer hehehe).

Weeks before her wedding, Javi had anxiety in going to school so I had to delay telling him that he will be coin bearer in his Ninang's wedding. We really waited after his Moving Up Day to let him know because I don't want him to get stressed about two things at once. Javi is a worrier, and at times I can't predict his reaction to things even if we prepare him beforehand. The wedding was yesterday, and we were only able to practice his walking the Saturday before. We also told him we will give him a reward if he walks by himself (Paw Patrol toy, he requested). Yesterday, we arrived early at the reception so that we can practice walking at the actual aisle.

Before going down the car

Unfortunately, he didn't want to practice :( I tried to convince him, and gave him a Kinder egg to encourage  bribe him but he still wouldn't budge. BUT during the actual processional, when he held the pillow I was able to leave him in the entourage line. I kept on reminding him that he wouldn't get his toy if won't walk by himself. He was so overwhelmed with the experience, he started to cry. Watch the video.

Half-way through, when he stopped I held his hand and walked side-by-side with him until he reached the end of the aisle. Oh my boy!

During the wedding rites, I gave him his chocolate to make him feel better.

Happy na
We weren't prepped that he needed to go again in front to bring the coins. I thought all the while, the coordinator will be the one who will hand over the coins to the couple. I didn't force him anymore, I went with him as he gave the coins to the couple.

During the picture taking with the newly weds, he didn't want to go as well with the entire entourage. I brought him to the front but he didn't want to let go of my hand. He was about to cry coz I kept telling him he will not get his toy if he doesn't want to have his picture taken hehehe. Finally, when it was time for Mommy and Daddy to have photos with the newly weds, he happily went with us. So during the reception, he insisted to get his toy ahahaha! We gave him his toy and got his most wonderful and happy smile. Hay anak! Ahahaha!

Sabi ni Joma, dapat ata pinahabol namin yung toy sa kanya para maglakad sa aisle hehehe.

*********

Our dear Javi,

Sorry if yesterday was a stressful day for you. I know you really wanted to walk on your own and you tried. I know you were overwhelmed with what's happening that's why you cried. When we asked you why you cried, you said "Ayaw ko kasi mag-practice" hahaha! That was already game time, anak! But that's okay. I saw that you tried your very best and mustered enough courage to face all those strange people to walk on your own. We wished we have given you enough time to prepare for this. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you. We love you!

Love,
Mommy

Pig and Bird's Wedding*

On the first Sunday of October, I attended the wedding of my officemate D. It was such a lovely wedding. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the wedding ceremonies and I don't really do that. So all of my photos are from the reception. The reception was held at EDSA Shangrila. It was intimate and elegant. Here are some photos.

We bumped into the newly weds outside the reception hall, waiting for the program to start. Lovely lovely bride!

I love weddings! - from my Instagram

During the program. What's a group photo with the newly weds without the wacky shot.

We're actually waiting in line here for the buffet hehe

Chico and Delamar were the hosts...we had to take a photo with them :)

Congratulations C and D!!!

*Those are their terms of endearment for one another :)

Last Wedding for 2010

30 December 2010

Before the year ended, Joma and I attended our last wedding for the year. Would you believe we attended a total of 6 weddings this year? That was a record-breaker for us.

It was the wedding of my college barkada...Kae to her fiance Jayson. The ceremony was held at the Santuario de San Pedro Bautista Parish in Quezon City.

With the girls...Sharon, Reyna and Sheryl were secondary sponsors.

With my dashing hubby...he was the designated photographer that day so this was his only photo for the entire event hehe

My friend walking down the aisle. She was teary eyed which got me teary eyed. We're so happy for her!

During the wedding rites

The new Mr. and Mrs. after the ceremony outside the church.

Reception was held at Bella Ibarra. I was asked to lead the opening prayer.

Their reception program was very new to me. The bouquet and garter toss was done immediately after the cake cutting and wine drinking, which is at the start of thr program. Thought it was wise since most single guests didn't expect this and have no way out of it haha.

The very touching father and bride dance.

But it was followed by a happy prosperity dance by the newlyweds.

Congratulations and best wishes, Jayson and Kae!

My Cousin's Wedding

14 October

I went on leave for my cousin Adam and his bride, Cam's wedding. Mama was one of the ninangs. Although this photo was taken before the ceremony.

I was one of the mass readers so I had a good vantage point taking photos. The soon to be husband and wife at the start of the ceremony.

During the exchange of rings.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Santuario de San Jose while the reception was at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club.

The new Mr. and Mrs. being welcomed by their guests.

One of their ninongs, Rannie Raymundo, sang a song for them. They were so special to him coz he sang something he composed himself, which he originally wrote for his wife whom he's been with for 26 years. Wow! (No, that's not his wife)

Another favorite of mine during the reception was when my cousin serenaded his bride and his father-in-law. He sang during the bride and father-of-the-bride dance. Don't know the title of the song though. But I found it so sweet! My cousin said, it would be ordinary for him to sing to his wife, but he'll be seing for his wife and his father-in-law. Aaaww! He's such a romantic.

Music was provided by the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, of course, to which he is a member.

The hubby and I with the newlyweds. My nose is still red from crying because my cousin gave a tribute to his parents when he said his speech. He's not a very vocal person but during the reception he thanked his parents and told the guests he has the best parents in the world. He said he never dreamed of being ultra-rich but if he had the money in the world, he'd buy back the time lost between his parents because most of their marriage they were living apart (my Tito is a seaman who worked in a cruise ship most of his adult life).

What's a wedding without photobooth pics.

Congratulations and best wishes, Adam and Cam!

Another Wedding in June

Last Saturday we went to our friend's wedding. It's our first time to attend an Inglesia Ni Cristo wedding. Theirs was held at the Local of F. Manalo in San Juan City. Their church is so opulent!

We arrived late so it was the middle of the ceremony when we got there. The pastor (is that how you call them in INC?) was already giving his sermon. And then after that the exchange of vows and rings were done. No veil, no cord, no candles, not even the arrhaes were included in the ceremony, unlike in Catholic weddings where the ceremony isn't complete withouth these.

Here's the groom's family with the newly weds.

After the ceremony, the guests waited outside for the couple and we all shouted "Mabuhay ang bagong kasal!"

The reception was held at Light of Love near Aurora Blvd. This is just right outside the hall venue of the reception. Those lights look so magical!

There were a lot of guests! We were seated at table 33. So it took a while before we were called to have a picture with the couple and to proceed to the buffet so we whiled away our time with the photobooth!

The photobooth guys should have given out free business cards to all the guests. They wouldn't know if someome needs a photobooth in the coming days.

We actually didn't finish the entire reception program. We left after the onsite video was shown. Although our ngiht didn't end there. We all hang out here in our place, had booze and watched The Big Bang Theory.

Wedding this Weekend

We’re going to another wedding this weekend. That will be the 4th wedding we've attended in a span of 2 months. It looks like this is a wedding year for my friends. Attending all these weddings and looking at my friends' wedding photos, made me look back to our own wedding – the preparations, the wedding day itself. One of the things that always catches my eye in the wedding photos are the wedding rings. Some prefer Gold Wedding Bands while some like their rings in platinum. Men’s Wedding Rings are most of the times plain wedding bands. Men’s Gold Rings are more common than rings with diamonds for men. I guess this is the one thing that us brides let our grooms decide on what they want because they are the ones who will wear them. And most men like their things simple. This is pretty much how it happened to use, we each decided on what ring we wanted and we got them. It didn’t matter to us if our rings matched or not.

I haven’t really blogged about some of the wedding details that we had. I know I’ve said here before that I’ll blog about the details once in a while because I wouldn’t be able to do it in just one sitting. Now I really want to do that so maybe I’ll start a project where I’ll blog about our wedding details every 8th of the month (our anniversary) until I'm done with all of them. How does that sound?

Wedding Month

It's been awhile since I've blogged here. But don't fret (if there is anyone fretting out there because I haven't blogged), I have a lot of backposts to do.

Since June is the month of weddings, let's start with the wedding of my friend Steve to Rhea. Their wedding was done at the Gazebo Royale last 6 June. It would have been an opportunity for us to be complete this time. You see, we started 7 in our group without the significant others. We were once officemates in a life insurance company. Now 6 of us are already married but in each one of those weddings there is always ALWAYS someone missing. Technically all 7 of us were there but we were missing one SO – Pao. I don't know if that's significant or what but we were really hoping we can finally be complete in this one event. Oh well, crossing my fingers we'll be complete for Jose's wedding, we have to find him a bride first though.

Anyways, back to Steve and Rhea's wedding. Here are some photos.

The very happy groom.

Jose was groomsman again (he was groomsman in Mands and Weng's wedding, too).

Rhea being presented to Steve as his bride.

The bride and groom were both emotional starting from the messages to their parents up to their vows.

Us during the reception.

Now onto the photobooth pics! Us girls!

And our almost complete photobooth pic (without Pao and the couple).

Congratulations, Steve and Rhea!
